Neighborhood eatery celebrates grand opening

Seven weeks after going into business at Glenn Square, Kriner’s Burgers & Pies held an official grand opening celebration Saturday, complete with a balloon twister, pie giveaways and a pie auction for charity.

The dining room was packed over the lunch hour, and more than a dozen employees dressed in blue Kriner’s t-shirts kept busy at the front of the restaurant. Andy Kriner, who owns the business along with his wife, Norann, auctioned off cream pies — all proceeds went to support the Children’s Lunchbox. The auction raised more than $400 in the first 45 minutes; Norann Kriner said one Oreo cream pie sold for $75. The afternoon event was an immediate success, she said. Business in Mountain View has been “very good.”

The restaurant is still hiring, too.
