A multibillion-dollar state capital budget includes hundreds of thousands of dollars for projects in Mountain View.
The budget — approved by lawmakers in Juneau earlier this month — allocates funding for improvement work and infrastructure development around the state. The largest amount of money directed towards Mountain View aims to spruce up the uneven, crowded alleys snaking through the neighborhood. The Municipality of Anchorage received $250,000 for alley paving and safety improvements in Mountain View.
The community council also received $12,500 to run the annual Mountain View Community Cleanup, and the Anchorage Community Land Trust received $200,000 to acquire and improve blighted or vacant land in the neighborhood.
