The $5.9 million in total funding includes state capital money, according to a Thursday announcement. Awarded to 28 organizations in 13 communities statewide, AHFC said the money is expected to help serve about 12,500 Alaskans struggling to put a roof over their heads.
RurAL CAP, Shiloh Community Housing, Inc., Alaska Community Mental Health Services and Safe Harbor Inn — all of which offer housing services in the Mountain View area — will collectively receive more than $600,000 of the total award.
