Working America offers pre-election gigs
The community arm of the AFL-CIO is seeking temporary employees ahead of the Nov. 4 general election.
Working America pays $15 an hour, according to flyers posted near Mountain View Lions Park. The flyers advertise “careers in organizing,” and anyone interested in the position can call 907.274.9278 or email Alaska@WorkingAmerica.org.
Learn landscapes at Infante Lyons Studio
There are still about five spots available in Linda Infante Lyons’ October oil painting class, according to the artist.
The classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays, Oct. 7-23 from 6-9 p.m. at 3701 Mountain View Drive, studio 103.
Registration costs $250. Lyons said the fee does not include supplies, and students will need to purchase paints, brushes, canvas and mediums. Rep. Tarr plans constituent meeting
Rep. Geran Tarr, who represents District 19 in the Alaska Legislature, is holding a Mountain View constituent meeting Sept. 30.
The public meeting is set to take place from 6-8 p.m. at Tyson Elementary School, according to the lawmaker’s office.
