Neighborhood beat: Family seeks missing woman

Have you seen Irma Williams?

Family and police are asking for help finding a Mountain View woman who was last seen about two weeks ago.

IMG_3828.JPGIrma Williams, 54, is known to frequent Mizelle Park, Mountain View Lions Park and Davis Park, according to a statement released Wednesday by the Anchorage Police Department. She often rides a blue bike with a white basket, and APD spokeswoman Dani Myren said Williams was last in contact with a family member Sept. 15.

When that same family member tried to call Williams Sept. 29 there was no answer. He went to her Mountain View home in an attempt to locate her, but she was nowhere to be found. A missing person report was filed Sept. 30, according to APD, and Williams’ family said she’s never gone missing before.

Williams is about 5 feet 6 inches tall and 150 pounds with long brown hair and brown eyes, and police said anyone with information on her whereabouts can call APD dispatch at 907.786.8900.

Road closure planned for Mountain View Drive

A stretch of Mountain View Drive will be closed this weekend while construction crews complete work near the intersection of Mountain View Drive and Porcupine Drive.

Just like it did two weeks ago, the closure will block the stretch of road in front of the new Ridgeline Terrace housing development and Carey Homes. Barriers will go up Friday at 8 p.m., according to roadside signs on Mountain View Drive. The street is set to reopen to traffic Monday at 6 a.m.

  1. Tough story….. Is there any other information? Has she done this before? Are there any other issues that might make helpers more successful?
    I hope she is alright.
