Clark Middle School hosts Junior Native Youth Olympics

Elementary-age competitors and their families packed the gym at Clark Middle School this weekend for the annual Junior Native Youth Olympics.

More than 850 young athletes participated in events ranging from the kneel jump to the Eskimo stick pull — traditional games you can trace back to ancient Alaska Native survival skills. Watch KTVA’s coverage here.

Veterinary clinic now open

The neighborhood’s first veterinary clinic is now seeing patients in a newly renovated space in the Mountain View Plaza.

Alaska Affordable Veterinary Care, owned by Dr. Jessie Rizor, is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. You can visit the office’s website here.
