‘The Wiz’

A local performance group that rehearses at the Mountain View Community Center was featured by KTUU’s Spotlight on Youth recently.

Black Arts North has been practicing for its production of “The Wiz” for about six months now, and the show is set to take place March 14 at the Wendy Williamson Theater. It involves 32 kids and 12 adults and you can watch a behind-the-scenes rehearsal video here.

Brewery announces grand opening

After months of preparation, Resolution Brewing Co. will open its Mountain View taproom to the public with a grand opening March 13 from 12-8 p.m.

The business, located at 3024 Mountain View Drive, was profiled by KTVA last week: Watch the video here.

Anchorage’s Parks Department is turning to social media for feedback on the future of Davis Park.

The department is currently creating a new master plan for the 95-acre green space, and asked for park users to share their ideas on Twitter with the hashtag #myDavisPark. As of Sunday night, there were no suggestions.

It’s not too late to weigh in. The department plans on hosting a master plan public open house March 24 from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Mountain View Library. The open house is specifically geared toward young people who use the park, according to the municipality, and you can find more information about the entire process here.
