Mountain View’s massive new outdoor retailer is preparing to open its doors Wednesday with a fundraising effort for local conservation efforts.
Bass Pro Shops’ Evening of Conservation begins with a 6 p.m. ceremony and 6:30 p.m. ribbon cutting. The company said it will donate a portion of the evening’s sales to the Outdoor Heritage Foundation of Alaska, Wood Bison Restoration Project, Conservation Fund’s Alaskan Salmon Habitat Initiative and Alaska Fish & Wildlife Fund’s Cook Inlet Initiative. Wednesday morning, landscapers put finishing touches on the store’s roped-off parking lot in preparation for the evening’s event.
If you plan on attending the grand opening or your evening commute takes you down Mountain View Drive, prepare for a crowd. The event has reserved Clark Middle School for overflow parking, and a shuttle service is scheduled to run from 3-11 p.m.
