Neighborhood beat: Road closes, restuarant opens

Kriner’s to open Saturday

Kriner’s Burgers & Pies will open for business Saturday, according to a post on the restaurant’s Facebook page.

The new eatery at the Glenn Square Shopping Center is owned by Andy and Norann Kriner, who also own a popular Midtown diner. After building out a vacant space on the northern side of the mall, the restaurant conducted open interviews before making its grand opening announcement Thursday night.

Kriner’s — located at 3704 Mountain View Drive, suite 151 — is set to open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sept. 20.

Mountain View Drive closes Friday

Mountain View Drive will be closed between Porcupine and Commercial Drive over the weekend.

Construction crews have begun infrastructure work on the new Ridgeline Terrace housing development, and the municipal Public Works Department said the road closure will begin at Porcupine Drive and extend in front of Carey Homes. The Success by Six building will still be accessible from Mountain View Drive, according to a municipal road closure map.

Drivers should plan on using 5th Avenue and Bragaw Street or Reeve Boulevard and Commercial Drive between 8 p.m. Friday and 6 a.m. Monday, according to the municipality.
