Coming soon: West Berlin?
While it’s still empty, the site of the former Mountain View Diner now has a new sign in the window.
Alaska business license records show West Berlin Restaurant is owned by Mountain View businessman William Hoopai. He also holds the license for Oskarz, which had a sign posted in the window at 4133 Mountain View Dr. for most of the year.
There’s still no word on when West Berlin might open, but the new sign over the window looks promising.
Sept. 23 is National Voter Registration Day, and signing up can be as easy as clicking here.
Alaskans hoping to vote in this year’s general election must register by Oct. 5, according to the Alaska Division of Elections. On Nov. 4, you’ll have the opportunity to decide on things like the legalization of marijuana and a tight race for U.S. Senator.
Help staff Santa’s Wonderland
Christmas may be several months away, but Bass Pro Shops is already preparing for its first holiday season in its new location.
According to a post on the company’s Facebook page, the outdoor retailer is currently hiring event associates who are outgoing, energetic and “great with kids,” among other qualities. The annual Santa’s Wonderland, held at Bass Pro locations around the country, features free pictures with Santa Claus and other holiday attractions.
People interested in applying for work at the Christmas event can pick up an application at the store at 3046 Mountain View Dr.
