Ever run into a black bear around a blind curve on the Ship Creek Trail? I have.
Saturday, a group of volunteers aims to improve safety and visibility on the trail by clearing brush and dead trees along the east end of the pathway.
The event is organized by the Department of Parks and Recreation’s Trail Watch initiative. Volunteers should meet project leaders John McCleary and Jeff Schmitz in the Tyson Elementary School parking lot between 8 – 8:30 a.m. June 6, according to the parks department. Work is scheduled to wrap up around noon.
Bring your own work boots and gloves; longs sleeves and pants are recommended. Click here to see the project flyer.
