Neighborhood beat: Library hosts job fair, Assembly approves development plan

Looking for a job?

The 2016 Mountain View Job Fair is set to take place Friday, Sept. 23 from 12-3 p.m. at the neighborhood library, according to the Alaska Department of Labor. More than a dozen local employers are expected to attend, and job-seekers are encouraged to bring resumes and any other applicable documents.

A plan for the neighborhood

Four years in the making, the Mountain View Targeted Neighborhood Plan received a final stamp of approval from the Anchorage Assembly last week. The document outlines a vision for long-term neighborhood development, from commercial growth and housing to public safety, parks and pedestrian amenities. According to the Anchorage Community Land Trust, which compiled the document, more than 1,000 residents participated in shaping the plan: You can read it here.
