The foundation is in place for a new single-family home in a formerly vacant lot at the corner of North Pine Street and Parsons Avenue.
Sitting on a quiet corner across the street from wooded Davis Park, the land is owned and developed by Cook Inlet Housing Authority, according to permits posted at the site. It’s one of multiple new homes under development by the authority this summer, including several duplexes on Price Street and more duplexes and a single family home on Richmond Avenue.
According to the local development coalition Housing First, Anchorage must build more than 900 new homes annually to keep up with demand.
