The fence around Duldida Park is about to come down.
This summer, chain link has encircled part of the half-acre park at the corner of Thompson Avenue and North Hoyt Street while crews worked to complete a wide-ranging, grant-funded upgrade. The project includes new playground equipment, resurfacing and a renovated plaza. According to Anchorage park planners, it’s nearing completion.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony is tentatively set to take place during a park fix-it event Sept. 17, from 9 a.m. to noon — five days before the end of summer.
