A man was killed in a hit-and-run on Commercial Drive late Sunday evening, according to the Anchorage Police Department.

The fatal collision was reported to police just after 10:30 p.m., when someone saw the man lying in the road near the Mountain View Drive intersection, and the eastbound lanes of Commercial Drive there were closed for approximately seven hours while police investigated the scene, said APD spokesman MJ Thim.

On Thursday, police identified the victim as Alfred Komok, 65. Police are still looking for surveillance video footage of the March 18 incident, Thim said, as well as a gold van whose occupants may have witnessed the collision, and another person who was walking with Komok at the time of the crash.
